About Our Shipping Process
After 5 years with the USPS, we have made a complete switch to UPS for our standard deliveries. While they are a few percent higher in cost as compared to the USPS, the service from the USPS has become unbearable and, in the long run, will be a much more reliable partner. We will still ship some items via USPS First Class Mail only because there really isn’t another option. This is mostly small hardware orders.
We do not view shipping as a profit center! We do charge for the corrugated box and packaging (we use only new, 200 lb. crush tested boxes) but that is it. No handling charges and no additional profit. Packages shipped by UPS do come with $100.00 of loss/damage insurance as standard. If your package has higher valued items, then you will be charged automatically for the insurance to cover the shipment.
PLEASE NOTE – If you provide an incorrect shipping address and the item is shipped, but not yet delivered, then in most cases it can be re-directed, but there will be an additional charge you will be responsible for – this is how UPS works. Also, please check, if you have a PayPal account and you are logged into PayPal at the time of payment (either by PayPal, or by credit card), PayPal will provide us the shipping address that is defaulted in your account. MAKE SURE IT IS CORRECT AND UP-TO-DATE AS WE WILL SHIP TO THE ADDRESS PROVIDED. If it is incorrect, then additional shipping charges will be assessed for delivery.
Should you have a shipping claim please contact us immediately. Due to the nature of our products, any damage will be evident in the package prior to opening. If the package is obviously damaged photograph it prior to opening as well as photograph the damage just after opening. It is impossible to honor a claim with just a verbal description of damage. Also RETAIN THE BOX AND ALL PACKAGING AS UPS MAY COME PICK IT UP TO REVIEW FOR THE CLAIM. Claims may take a week to settle.
For International shipments UPS will be a much faster alternative, but we need to ensure that all paperwork is correct, so for our International customers we’ll need a full shipping address, indication whether it’s a business, or residence we are shipping to as well as a contact phone number. A commercial invoice will be created and our shipping quote to you is ONLY THE SHIPPING ITSELF. Any duty, customs, VAT, or other import fees in your jurisdiction will be the buyer’s responsibility and will not be invoiced by us.
All items entering a foreign country are subject to customs inspection and assessment of duties, taxes, and fees in accordance with that country's national laws (this fee is also collected in the United States on inbound international items). Customs duties and taxes are assessed, generally, if the item sent is dutiable and if the value of the item is above the threshold set by the country's laws. Each country assesses customs, duties, and taxes. Check the World Customs Organization website for general information, or visit the website of that country's customs service.
Per our terms of sale, all orders are FOB our facility.
